Hello there,

I am Ranie Saidi, also known as The Malay Cook, a recipe writer based in London, originally from Malaysia. As a finalist for the Yan-Kit So Award for Food Writers on Asia, I am proud to be part of the new generation of British Malay cook, merging the best of both cultures into my unique recipes.

Growing up, I spent my time in my grandma's kitchen, watching and learning the art of traditional Malay cooking. This ignited my passion for food, and I further refined my skills as a recipe developer and food stylist.

Now, living in the UK, I draw inspiration from both cultures when crafting my dishes. My recipes are simple, yet flavourful, reflecting my Malay roots while embracing my British identity.
